Happy monthly faves time!
I hope you had THE loveliest Christmas time, & a HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOUUUU!
December is definitely one of my favourite months and I just knew it’d be a corker for dishing out the December faves – because y’know, Christmas. I’ve included some of the lovely gifts I received, so it’s a little faves, a little ‘what I got for Christmas’. Lets go!
Make-Up Brush Cleaner – Amazon – £1.96 & Free P&P (!!)
This was definitely absolutely and unashamedly one of my bargain buys from China again (see my makeup brushes over on my Mini Beauty Haul!). I’d wanted to try a makeup brush cleaner because I was getting nowhere the was I was doing it – literally just swishing them around on the palm of my hand – I know I know – & anyway at £1.96 what was the harm!
What a steal. It works wonders, and the one thing I always struggled with is getting the deep rooted liquid foundation out of the bristles, and this definitely does the trick. I tend to use a jug of warm water, some baby shampoo (makes them smell gorrrrgey) & this. Wonders I tell you, WONDERS.
Ciaté Fierce Flicks Eyeliner – Birchbox – £15
I received this as part of a Birchbox order – FULL FRIKKING SIZE MAY I ADD, & in my first box too. Safe to say, it was a good great day. I literally rinse liquid/felt eyeliner & I’m a big fan of the cat flick and an egyptian flick…flicks generally apparently (oo-er). Anyway, this is spot on. It’s great for a thick or a thin line, stays put and is super pigmented with a nice shine. Yayayayay.
The Victoria Letters by Helen Rappaport – Amazon – £7
I received this a Christmas present and OMG I’M IN LOVE WITH IT SO MUCH. I just love new books, and the smell; the smell of new books is everything. I literally just stick my nose in between the pages for a solid five minutes a time (actually not joking). Couple my weird book-smelling fetish with the facts that I loved the Victoria series starring Jenna Coleman (which the books accompanies) and my geekish love for history/Queen V/the Victorian period, and I’d bagged myself a winner. SO beautifully written, a sort of biography on the young Queen’s life and pictures from the series. Glorious!
Zoella Lets Spritz Body Mist – Superdrug – £8
Another gawwwjus Chrimbo gift, and one I was v happy to receive! I’ve loved this scent since it came out but strangely just never picked it up – I settled for sniffing my BFF smelling Summer sassy all year, and then voila, I got it for Christmas, yay! As I say, it is v much a Summer scent but it’s so beautiful I just wanna wear it all the time. & at £8 it proves you don’t have to whack out the big bucks to smell a million dollars.
Yankee Candle Advent Calendar
This was all kinds of yes! Such a lovely (& fragrant!) calendar – I had this last year too! You get 23 tealights and on the 24th day, a Christmas Eve votive, which is as festive as festive gets. I believe there were six different smells this year, including Snowflake Cookie, Bundle Up &…yeah. I forget the rest, but I am abundant with tealights now AND IT’S MAGNIFIQUE.
Matte Lip Liquid in ‘Mauritius Dahlia’ – The Body Shop – £6
So I basically saw a girl wearing this on Instagram, and she looked amazing! I’ve been after a dark lip AND a matte lipstick that work for me – two birds, one stone! This is gorgeous, quite buildable, not tooo dark and doesn’t dry out your lips, leaving quite a velvety look.
I’m in love.
‘The Magic of Christmas’ Reusable Bubble Bar – Lush
I actually got to pick this as one of my Christmas presents from my boyf (top banana that he is) and holy moly, IT SMELLS SO GOOD. & look how beautiful it is? I don’t want to use it, it’s so freaking perfect. Can it be Chrimbo everyday pls?
What did you get for Christmas? Comment below, just because I’m unashamedly nosey!
Til next time…
i adore the smell of new books too!! great post 💓

Thank youu! Oo it really is lovely, I’m especially keen because it doesn’t dry my lips out which is the problem I’ve had with so many other matte lips! Let me know if you give it a go! 🙂 x

A Yankee candle advent calendar?! What!!! No idea they had one out. Matte lip products are my favorite esp if they’re for dark tones or red since it doesn’t get messy. Such good favorites you have 🙂
