My May Favourites!

Hola, June! You sexy Summery month, you.

I hope you had a wonderful May! I’m a little late knocking this blog post out but I’m v excited to share with you a few of the things I loved last month; so without a further ado, lets dive straight in, yo.

Cacti & succulents

Holy mother of all things green and glorious. JUST LOOK AT THEM THOUGH. *Insert heart eyes emoji here x10*

I know there’s a bit of a cactus craze going on right now, and I’m not ashamed to have been sucked hook, line & sinker into it all! I love how effective an addition these have made to my room. I’m a bit of a sap when it comes to plants/flowers/nature anyway, so it was a given I’d be head over heels for these – the cacti planter pot was £10 in B&Q & the mini succulents & ceramic pots are around £2/£3 in Sainsburys & Tesco respectively. Now it’s just keeping them alive…

Soap & Glory Righteous Butter

So I may have received this for Christmas, and I may have only just taken the film off to use it.. but better late than never right?! Now I don’t have a very good backlog with body butters – I’ve tried a fair few before, including The Body Shop’s range, but sadly I’ve just never gotten on with them. I feel like it takes so much work for my skin to absorb the cream and I’m left feeling like a sticky bun, so I was a little unsure on trying this; that said, I’m in love with it! It’s got that signature Soap & Glory scent, and I’ve found that a little goes a long way (so it’ll last me a good long while!) – I’ve been using it particularly on my legs after shaving and I’m soo smooth afterwards! RRP £10 in Boots.

10/10 for not making a sticky bun out of me S&G *fist pump*

Radox Bubble Bath ‘Feel Blissful’

20170613_131227-01

I dunno what it is, but I’ve been loving baths lately – like I’ve always enjoyed a bath don’t get me wrong, but recently I’ve been finding real comfort in them. It’s been nice to actually lay back and relax because that my friend, is what baths are all about! I’ve been especially enjoying Radox’s ‘Feel Blissful’ – such a therapeutic, comforting scent. Plus the bottle is pretty too! I got mine for a £1 in ASDA, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same price in most other retailers.

Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Phone Case

20170613_131255-01

Now you may or may not know this, but Disney’s Alice in Wonderland is my favourite Disney film! Like I’m not gonna lie, it did freak me out a little when I was younger – I remember hiding whenever Tweedle Dee & Dum were on screen because their faces gave me the heeby jeebies. I just love it though, and with a newish phone, I wanted to get a case to make sure that if when I dropped it or something, it’d be somewhat protected! So I opted for this pretty case which I found on eBay for I believe around £8 – it feels like pretty decent quality and it’s a job to get my phone out of it which is promising. All in all, a very happy unbirthday to me!

Netflix’ The Keepers

I wasn’t sure about sticking this in my favourites, just because I wouldn’t say I really enjoyed watching it; more I was hooked. It a docuseries that follows the story of a 26 year old nun, Sister Cesnic, who was killed in 1969 in Baltimore USA, under suspicious circumstances and with nobody ever charged for her murder.

We watch as her former students work tirelessly to piece together evidence and find information to get justice for her. You find yourself rooting for these women and how frikking brilliantly determined they are! There’s child sex abuse involved in this too, so I like I said, a tough watch. Absolutely gripping though. Let me know if you’ve watched it & what you thought!

& that’s that! Let me know what you’ve been loving and if you’d recommend anything – or let me know if you’ve tried any of my faves! Sending you huge amounts of love and gratitude as always for being part of my blogging family.

Big kisses always,

      1. I did watch Making a Murderer, and I’ve been recommending The Keepers to everyone who liked MaM! I love the unsolved/murder mystery docuseries style!

    1. Thank you so much! I’m just hoping I can keep the cacti alive now, I don’t have the best record for keeping plants going haha! Do you have any?! YES the S&G butter is sooo nice on your skin!! x

  1. That sounds fascinating, I haven’t heard of that docuseries, but I love watching documentaries. You should try this Dickinson’s witchazel toner, it’s really kept my face smooth and hydrated. As well as burt’s bees pomegranate lip balm.

  2. Ah I watched The Keepers on my flight home from Calif, and wow it was gut wrenching and just so sad but it definitely kept me on my toes and highly entertained for a solid 6 hours. Netflix is always so clutch! Also I loveee cacti and succulents, if I ever pick out any plants it’s generally one of those two…or bamboo lol

    1. OMG I’m in love with bamboo too! I had a small bamboo plant a few months ago but… it died. I killed it, I think I over watered it or something, but I was gutted! Just hoping I keep the cacti alive!! The Keepers was so hard to watch wasn’t it? I wish they’d do more docuseries like that! xx
