My February Favourites

I say this everytime, but blimey o’reilly’s undercrackers (calm down kid) these are some of my favourite posts to write! I genuinely go through the month nodding to something thinking ‘yep, you’ve made it to the favourites’ – & here we are! Smack bang into March already. Is anybody else a little bit giddy that it’s nearly Springtime? There may be the odd appearance of a daffodil or two in the pics to follow, which although they don’t have a little section of their own, were definitely one of my favourite things in February!

L’oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer – Superdrug – £7.99

It might shock you to know that til now, I’d never owned a Primer. I’ll give you a moment to pick your jaws up off the floor and grab a strong brew.

Ok so I may have owned like samples before, but I’d never intentionally gone out and purchased one. I guess its not something I felt like I was totally in need of. However, since buying this bad boy, I swear I don’t quite know how I’ve lived without it this long. It makes so much difference! Not only does the gel formula leave my skin feeling soft, but my makeup longevity seems to have doubled; I’m quite prone to oily skin and I normally get to a certain time of day and my efforts have started to disappear. Somehow this little tube of wonder makes it last that little bit longer. Woopee!

Rag’n’Bone Man – Human – Amazon – £9.99

Human

You know when you have those random YouTube sessions where you just leave it to play on shuffle then you happen to stumble across some magic that you otherwise might not have discovered?! Ok, well anyway, that was the case for me and this man ^. I was listening to his hit ‘Human’, and let his whole album run: AMAZING. He’s got such a rich, deep multi-tonal voice, and every track stands completely in it’s own right. Stand out tracks for me are ‘Skin’ and ‘Perfume’, which I may have had on repeat. A lot. Go check him out!

The Crown – Netflix

This is absolutely, categorically, one of the best shows I’ve watched on Netflix! It could be because I’m a mahoosive history buff, or it could just be that it is stonkingly brilliant – & what a cast! Claire Foy is legit amazing as a young Queen Elizabeth II, with John Lithgow putting in an incredible performance as Winston Churchill. It chronicles the life of the Queen, beginning with her accession, and gives an insight into the Royal’s world and the trials and tribulations faced at the time. I’m not sure I’ve sold it well enough, but trust me, it’s a must see. CAN WE HAVE SEASON 2 NOW PLS.

Nivea Shower Silk Mousse – Tesco – £2

love Nivea – I shout about them all the time, basically because there’s not been a thing yet that I’ve purchased and not loved. Their products are so kind to your skin & this was no exception! I picked up a shower mousse with almond oil and I joke you not, my skin is soo soft after use. Happy shower, happy Katie.

MUA Matte Lipstick in ‘Fawn Fancy’ – Superdrug – £1

20170302_140112-01

You read that right. A POUND. Lets start off by saying how in love I am with the shade; it’s just such a gorgeous nude – it’s a bit deceiving because although it looks quite brown in the picture, it’s actually such a gorge warm terracotta nude – it’s been likened to MAC’s ‘Velvet Teddy’ apparently! It’s pleasant smelling, and owing to the fact I own a bajillion red lipsticks, I have welcomed this nude into my makeup family wholeheartedly.

The only small drawbacks I have are that it takes a few applications to get like a full coverage, and it’s a tad bit drying. However, for a quid, I’m not gonna complain. I’m just gonna stock up!

& that concludes my Feb faves! Let me know if you’ve tried/watched/listened to any of my faves and what you think, and tell me what you’ve been loving!

Big kisses, & happy March!

  1. I’m in episode 3 or 4 of The Crown and I like it 🙂 It’s definitely a different style than I am use to, mainly because I rarely watch British shows :). I’ll have to try that primer when my samples run out 🙂 I have oily skin too, so I definitely need something that combats that on my face.
